Vesk

Vesk are humanoids with lizard-like features who hail from the Veskarium, an interplanetary empire near the Pact Worlds, but can also be frequently encountered in the Pact Worlds system.

History

Prior to the introduction of Drift travel, vesk conquered their own solar system's other planets to form an interplanetary empire named Veskarium. After Drift travelers established contact with the Veskarium, the Pact Worlders shared with them the technology to build Drift engines. Veskarium engineers raced to update their existing starships with the new technology, and immediately initiated a war to conquer the Pact Worlds known as the Silent War. Facing this outside threat, the various planets of the Pact Worlds system formed a defensive alliance that lead to the creation of the Pact Worlds government. After centuries of combat, the Veskarium declared a truce to fight alongside the Pact Worlds against the larger threat of The Swarm.

Society

Vesk society is highly organized and militaristic. Vesk first dwelled on a single planet but quickly spread to other worlds in their system. Today, the name for these conquered worlds is the Veskarium, with each given a number to mark their distance from the sun and order of conquest (such as Vesk-3 or Vesk-8). Vesk Prime, the vesk ancestral home, is the seat of Veskarium government and the heart of their culture.
