Descended from the group of the same name from Lost Golarion, the Hellknight orders are dedicated to spreading throughout the stars, regardless of any casualties or perceived expense. Allied with fiendish forces from Hell itself, Hellknights offer their service for credits but also impose their specific brand of justice in situations that their leadership deems necessary.
Countless orders comprise the wider faction of Hellknights. The most prominent in the modern age is the Order of the Eclipse, which came to prominence as disenfranchised Hellknights united in the aftermath of the Gap. The Order of the Eclipse focuses its efforts on controlling messaging and dangerous media throughout the Pact Worlds. Hellknights of the Order of the Crucible constantly test themselves and scrutinize distant colonies and alien civilizations for brutal trials. Those who pass these tests receive impressive boons for their efforts, such as the bequeathment of Helldrive technology, which the Gideron Authority obtained from their ongoing relationship with the Crucible Hellknights. Civilizations that fail eventually face invasion by a more successful empire and their hired Hellknight mercenaries.
